Dr., Certified Fitness Trainer Says Reform of Lifestyles Needed First

Dr. David Robinson, certified fitness trainer cites the dismal health statistics for proof that Americans should first reform their own lifestyles and priorities before taking a position on health reform.

New Bedford, MA, September 29, 2009 --(PR.com)-- "There is an unprecedented level of short-sightedness on all sides of this health reform debate," says Dr. David Robinson, certified fitness trainer and published author (Transforming Body, Mind and Spirit, The NonDiet Way to Live Fit, Trim, Healthy for Life, Strategic, April 2009).

Dr. Robinson goes on, "The absurd thing is there are these self-serving, entitlement attitudes toward health insurance and care that run right along side of a blatant apathy and in some cases even an antipathy toward healthy living and being responsible for one's own health." Armed with dismal health statistics from the C.D.C., W.H.O., the U.C.L.A. RAND Center and other sources, he easily backs up his statement.

Regardless of one's position on health reform, Robinson appears correct. No matter what stance or position they may take, the majority of Americans do need to realize that health care is first and foremost a self responsibility.

Robinson further points out that for the most part, when people do decide to make healthy changes or to lose weight, they turn to the newest health or diet or weight loss pill, plan or product.
In regard to this approach, he asks, "If any of these paths or products worked well or long term, why do the statistics on obesity and chronic conditions exist?"

It appears as though Dr. Robinson has a valid point. "Judging from the statistics, most people are in need of lifestyle overhauls and serious lifestyle priority reform. Before they sound off complaining about health care and insurance costs or reform, they have to get their own lifestyles in healthy order.", he concludes.
